Application of Bio-formulation for Controlling Termites:

Directorate of Biotechnology, Govt. of Tripura conducted field trial in collaboration with North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST), Jorhat, Govt. of India in Tea gardens of Tripura for controlling termites by applying Bio-formulation in the month of February, 2012. Substantial reduction of termite population was observed after three applications of Bio-formulation within a period of one month.

On successful execution of field trial following result is obtained

The 2nd phase of spraying was conducted between 25 – 26 th February 2012 and the following result is obtained as on 29th February 2012  
1. The Termites stopped climbing on stem of treated plant.  
2. The number of termites in stems and soil reduced to a substantial level.  
3. Emergence of new vegetative flushes in the treated plants.
